Studying Made Simple : Make Use Of Summaries

Browsing through textbooks can be a tedious task and it's pretty rare to find someone whose just studying one module or just one text book which means you have multiple books to go through. That alone can be overwhelming and the amount of pages and words to go through before an exam or test means reading till your eyes explode or comes close to that. A solutions for this would simply be by making summaries of your notes.

Their fairly simple to get done and can save you some absolutely valuable time when you have exams around the corner or just a better alternative when you require cold hard facts at your disposal without needing to scan or speed-read through countless pages of a text book.

Some Characteristics of Making Summaries:

  • - A concise short amount of relevant facts.
  • - It keeps to the facts and is not distorted
  • - The Central points of the passage or text is focused on
  • - A summary is never very long but short and to the point
  • - Opinions and irrelevant information is usually left out

Basically, Summary's are definitely your go to plan when working on gathering the best points from your text and keeping them in a digestible portion for when you require it the most. I usually keep a book on hand when i study so whenever I go through some passage that has a point or fact which is important, i jot it down in my summary.

It could be written as a paragraph format or you can choose to make use of linear notes. Points are also very easy to use as a format and are always directly involved in holding facts. Make use of these simple techniques because something as simple as writing facts down as you read can be extremely beneficial to learning. I find that the stuff I make summary's of and write about are the first facts that pop into my head, that is by far very handy for calling up answers for your paper.

Use this post as a simple example of a summarized piece of information which is short and to the point.
